Mr. Genta Ando (Director of Electricity Infrastructure Division, METI)
Mr. Genta Ando

Genta Ando is Director of the Electricity Infrastructure Division at Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), where he leads policy planning for transmission networks and power generation. Prior to his appointment to current position, he served as Executive Director of JETRO San Francisco, supporting Japanese startups in Silicon Valley. He also worked as Director of the Corporate System Division at METI, where he led the development of the Guidelines for Corporate Takeovers and broader corporate governance reforms. He also contributed to Japan’s electricity market liberalization reforms from 2012 to 2016. Genta holds an MPA from Columbia University and engineering degrees from the University of Tokyo.

Dr. Tsutomu Miyasaka (Professor, Toin University of Yokohama)
Dr. Tsutomu Miyasaka

Tsutomu Miyasaka completed his Ph.D. at the Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo. He has been a professor at the Graduate School of Engineering, Toin University of Yokohama (TUY) since 2001. He founded Peccell Technologies Co., Ltd. in 2004 and is the CEO. From 2017 to 2024 he was a fellow of Research Center of Advanced Science and Technology, the University of Tokyo. He is currently a project professor at TUY and a specially appointed professor at Waseda University. His research specializes in photoelectrochemistry and hybrid photovoltaic cells, especially perovskite solar cells. Awards include Kyoto Prize (2026), Japan Academy Award (2024), Rank Prize (2022), Clarivate Analytics Citation Honor Award (2017), etc.

Mr. Masayori Yoshino (CEO, FPR Energy Limited.,)
Mr. Masayori Yoshino

Masayori Yoshino is Chief Executive Officer at FPR Energy Limited. He is an experienced energy industry professional, including 16 years' with Osaka Gas Co. Ltd. before joining FPR Energy, specialising in international energy initiatives including LNG trading, upstream development, and LNG to power projects including captive power projects in remote mining operations. His focus has been on integrating technical and commercial strategies to achieve energy transition outcomes. A mechanical engineer by training and holds Master of Engineering.

4. Innovative Bioclimatic Architecture

Dr. Nebojsa Jakica (Associate Professor, the University of Southern Denmark)
Dr. Nebojsa Jakica

Nebojsa Jakica is Associate Professor at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), where he leads FacadeGenius, the first AI-powered platform for conceptual façade design and engineering with real-time carbon, energy and indoor-climate data. His interdisciplinary work combines architecture, engineering and advanced computation to develop high-performance, resource-efficient and human-centred façade systems. His research covers solar design, building-integrated photovoltaics, adaptive façades, artificial intelligence and human–façade interaction, with a focus on energy performance, circularity and human comfort. He holds a PhD and an MSpec from Politecnico di Milano and an MSc in Architecture from the University of Novi Sad. Dr. Jakica holds two patents for photovoltaic façade technologies and is a member of the Building Envelope Alliance. He has 20 years of experience as an architect, environmental designer, innovator, sustainability consultant and engineer, having contributed to numerous award-winning competitions and projects worldwide, including Gazprom Tower in Russia, Westlake University in China and CityLife in Italy.

5. Wind Energy

Dr.-Ing. Samer Mtauweg (CEO, Ingenieurbüro IBSM)
Dr. Samer Mtauweg

Dr.-Ing. Samer Mtauweg, expert in systems engineering for wind energy and mechanical engineering (Bremerhaven, Germany). He earned his doctorate with a thesis on the dynamics of wind turbines. He subsequently worked for a leading offshore wind turbine manufacturer (AREVA Wind / ADWEN: AREVA-Gamesa / SIEMENS-GAMESA), where he served as team leader responsible for developing the drivetrain for the 8 MW offshore platform. In 2015, Dr. Mtauweg joined the wind turbine manufacturer ENERCON, working as a Key Expert for future technologies and overseeing strategic technical development and innovation. He has been active as an entrepreneur since 2018. He is currently CEO of Ingenieurbüro IBSM specializing in system dynamics, system diagnostics, and predictive maintenance.

Dr. Yukihiko Matsumura (Professor, Hiroshima University)
Dr. Yukihiko Matsumura

Yukihiko Matsumura graduated from the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Tokyo, in 1988. He obtained a PhD in the field of Chemical Energy Engineering in 1994 from the same university. He worked at the University of Hawaii as a visiting researcher for two years, while he worked at the University of Tokyo to be an associate professor in the Environmental Science Center. Since 2001, he has been working at Hiroshima University, where he was appointed professor in 2007. His research interests are thermal engineering, supercritical fluid engineering, and research on biomass and bioenergy. In 2026, he received the Johannes Linneborn Prize from the European Commission.

7. Hydrogen & Fuel Cell

Dr. Ryosuke Jinnouchi (Senior fellow, Toyota Central R&D Labs., Inc.)
Dr. Ryosuke Jinnouchi

Ryosuke Jinnouchi is a Senior Fellow at Toyota Central R&D Labs., Inc. (TCRDL), which he joined in 2003. He leads TCRDL’s research on polymer-electrolyte fuel cells, as well as related theories and simulations based on first-principles calculations, molecular dynamics, and machine-learning force fields. Dr. Jinnouchi received his Doctor of Engineering degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology. From 2006 to 2008, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Case Western Reserve University, and from 2017 to 2019, he was a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Vienna. Dr. Jinnouchi has approximately 25 years of experience in fuel-cell research and in atomistic and electronic-structure calculations of electrocatalytic and ionic systems.

8. Ocean Energy

Dr. Mohammed R Ahmed (Professor, the University of the South Pacific’s main campus in Fiji, and Saga University)
Dr. Mohammed R Ahmed

Professor Mohammed Rafiuddin Ahmed is a very experienced engineering researcher and academic with a strong passion for sustainable development and is keen to make significant contribution to climate change mitigation and adaptation. He has worked and is working on a number of projects dealing with green energy transition and blue energy as a practical application of blue infrastructure. A Mechanical Engineer by basic training, he holds a PhD degree in the area of Fluids Engineering focusing on energy efficiency. He has held full-time and visiting positions in New Zealand, Japan, India and South Korea apart from the present positions of Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of the South Pacific’s main campus in Fiji and specially appointment Professor at the Institute of Ocean Energy, Saga University, Japan. He has published about 150 papers in international journals and conference proceedings with publications in almost all the areas and sources of renewable energy. Right now, his focus is on marine renewable energy projects that can contribute to sustainable development of Pacific islands that supplement energy generation with desalination, aquaculture and agriculture as well as nature-based coastal protection.

9. Geothermal Energy & Ground-Source Heat Pump

Dr. Jian-Cheng Lee (Program Manager, Geothermal Research Team of Academia Sinica)
Dr. Jian-Cheng Lee

Jian-Cheng Lee is the Program Manager (Leading PI) of the Geothermal Research Team of Academia Sinica, Taiwan. His research interests include active fault, earthquake geology, structural geology and tectonics. He made a great effort on studying the Longitudinal Valley Fault system in eastern Taiwan, on its fault architecture, slip behaviors, fault kinematics, mechanical properties. He is also interested in metamorphic deformation structures in the context of rocks from subduction to exhumation, in particular the high-pressure terrain in eastern Central Range of Taiwan (Yuli belt). Recently, he began to involve the geothermal projects, including that fully supported by Academia Sinica for exploration on geothermal electricity power in Taiwan.

Dr. Yoshimitsu Umahashi (Senior Research Scientist, CRIEPI)
Dr. Yoshimitsu Umahashi

Yoshimitsu Umahashi is a Senior Research Scientist at the Central Research Institute of Electric Power Industry (CRIEPI), Japan. He has more than 30 years of experience in power system planning, including generation and transmission planning and UHV transmission systems. Before joining CRIEPI, he worked for Tokyo Electric Power Company and served as Executive Vice President of TNcross Corporation. His current research focuses on future energy networks addressing the rapid growth of large-scale data centers and the integration of renewable energy. He is particularly engaged in developing the concept of “Watt-Bit Coordination,” which integrates power system operation with digital infrastructure and computational workloads. He also serves as Co-Convenor of IEC/MSB SWG 26 “Clean Green Datacentre,” together with a representative from the British Standards Institution (BSI), contributing to international efforts toward sustainable data centers and related standardization.

Tom Meijerink, MSc MBA (Chairman, the Dutch Association for Shallow Geothermal Energy)

Tom Meijerink, MSc MBA, is Chairman of the Dutch Association for Shallow Geothermal Energy and Director at Bax Innovation. With over 20 years of experience across the Dutch energy, water, and infrastructure sectors, he specializes in public policy, innovation, and complex multi-stakeholder collaborations. Tom actively addresses key energy transition challenges—such as grid congestion, hydrogen, and spatial planning—while advancing shallow geothermal energy and underground thermal energy storage to drive sustainable heating and cooling in the built environment.

Mr. Kai Shimokawa (Senior Manager at Design Department, Voith Fuji Hydro K.K)
Mr. Kai Shimokawa

Kai Shimokawa is Senior Manager at Design Department in Voith Fuji Hydro K.K., which he joined in 2012. Dr. Kai Shimokawa began his career at the company as a hydraulic design engineer and has held positions as Manager of Design Department and Senior Manager of the Production Department, having worked consistently in the hydraulic turbine industry throughout his career. Dr. Shimokawa holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Kyushu University.
